Tell us a bit about you and your interior style.
I live in Horsham, West Sussex with my husband, Dan, and our three-year-old daughter, Annabel. I work as a solicitor and Dan is a technology director so we want to come home from work to a peaceful and welcoming environment.
My style is very neutral and simplistic as I want to create a warm and cosy space whilst enabling the decor to be somewhat timeless. I’ve found that mixing up textures creates interest and prevents boredom. There are always blankets and throws on hand and the greys and creams work well together throughout each season. Plus the leather sofa in the lounge is much easier to clean chocolate off!
Which stove did you choose and how did you go about finding it?
We have the Huntington 30 in the ivory finish. We originally bought one for our previous house, having visited a local showroom. I loved the gothic window, the way it colour matched the decor and I felt it was less imposing than black. When we came to sell that house the winning bidder specifically stated that his offer was for the house with the stove!
When we moved house we ordered the same Stovax model before we even had the keys, having taken measurements and sent pictures to our local showroom to ensure the correct fit. Having gone through one renovation we decided it was a priority to have a stove in place before the building work took place so we would be warm throughout the winter.
What is your idea of simpler living?
My idea of simpler living is being with my family, tucked up in front of a fire watching a film. You can’t beat the atmosphere that a log burner creates. The best thing about our stove is we can see the roaring fire through the big window; it creates a beautiful focal point regardless of whether we are watching TV or reading a book.
