We had deliberated for some time as to whether to update our Gazco inset fire, buy a gas “stove” or a woodburner. In the end the cleanliness won the day. No cleaning out, storing logs, keeping the glass clean – with the Huntingdon 30 gas stove (and the fabulous remote) it’s clean, instant & we are delighted with its performance.
We purchased more for the focal point, as a backup to the central heating but we’ve found after having it on the higher setting for about 45 minutes, we turn it to the lower setting and the room’s been toasty warm so we haven’t needed the heating, much more effective than expected.
We’ve just returned from a cottage holiday which had a log burner, the hours spent clearing, cleaning, hoping the thing would light, then stay alight & opening doors and windows because it got too hot – well we have definitely made the right decision!!
