Real homes, real fireplace inspiration

Real homes, real fireplace inspiration

Looking for inspiration for your own fireplace renovation? We’ve collated a round-up of some of our case studies from real homeowners to give you a few ideas of the kind of centrepiece design that can be achieved with a Stovax or Gazco stove or fire.

The perfect focal point with the Stovax Studio 2

TG Designer Homes needed a contemporary focal point for their modern single story home and decided on the Stovax Studio 2 Freestanding wood burner. With 8KW of heat output, it has more than enough to heat their open plan living space and create a warm and cosy vibe in the property. They love the Studio 2 for its modern design, and we think it fits perfectly as the centrepiece to their project.

“There are not many suppliers of contemporary wood burners who are offering products that are as available and affordable as this one.”

Cosy family home with the Chesterfield 5

Winner of our “Win the cost of your product back” prize draw, Victoria had opted for a Chesterfield 5 log burner as the centrepiece of her family home. They’ve always loved to spend time in the great outdoors, but now they’re also able to enjoy coming home and getting cosy in front of their new Chesterfield 5 stove.

“People enjoy coming to our home and sitting in front of the fire with a cup of tea whilst we talk. It creates a homely, warm environment.”

A warm and inviting Victorian Cottage with the Gazco Sheraton 5 Gas

@Finnerz.home wanted the feel of a traditional gas log burner to bring their old fireplace back into use. Having chosen the Gazco Sheraton 5 Gas stove for its realistic looks and convenience of being lit in seconds, they now have a warm and inviting living room that they enjoy coming back to after walks in the countryside.

“It’s so nice watching a movie or coming in from a country walk to hot chocolates in front of the fire.”

A grand design with the Stovax Studio 3

Appearing on Season 21, Episode 2 of Grand Designs, Greg and Georgie were looking for a large format wood burning stove with a high KW heat output for their barn conversion. They settled on the Stovax Studio 3 Freestanding wood burning fire as the centrepiece to their build. Opting for a stove over an open fire meant they could have a flue installed without requiring a solid chimney breast and hearth to be built, at additional cost and longer installation time. They love the modern/industrial look and large viewing window which provides the cosy fireside appeal and heat to their open plan living area.

“We love standing on the balcony in the evening overlooking the main living area taking in the space, your eyes being drawn to the glow of the fire just before bed.”

Ambience on demand with the Gazco eReflex 105R

Belle Lucia, founder of @inporiem required a finishing touch to her media wall project, and settled on the Gazco eReflex 105R Electric fire. As the owner of a victorian property in West London, they loved the design of the eReflex as it fit perfectly with their clean and minimal styled living area. We think the eReflex fits really well into the final design and will provide a great centrepiece all year round, with or without the heat.

“It gives a room soul and warmth, and the light it gives off has the most amazing vibe. It’s one of those things that even when you aren’t looking directly at it, it is creating a beautiful subconscious feeling of warmth.”

“The contemporary design and quality reputation were the prime drivers for choosing Stovax. We build luxury homes that demand the highest specification and Stovax fitted the bill perfectly.”

Distinctive designs with the Stovax Vogue Midi

E5 Living UK mix traditional design with elegant detailing in their quality homes and needed a wood burner to complete the look. They opted for the Stovax Vogue Midi wood burning stove for its stylish looks and energy efficiency. We think it makes a great addition to their project and elegantly blends the contemporary with the traditional.

“Fireplaces, especially ones that feature a Stovax fire, are the centrepiece of a room. They are the cornerstone around which to base your look on. Even when they aren’t in use, they look so stylish – they really give a room the wow factor.”

My chimney sweep who is also a HETAS registered installer said that you do made to measure stoves that would actually fit into my old cast iron fireplace. do you have any photos and details about these please?

    • Chris Connick says:

Hi Elizabeth, thanks for your comment. Sadly we no longer offer any made to measure options, however depending on the model of your cast iron fireplace – if it’s made by Stovax we may offer a gas burner insert for it. Please speak to your local Gazco retailer for more information.
      Best wishes, Chris
