Tell us a bit more about your home project.
The project was a 4 bedroom 3 bathroom Victorian house in West London. It was in a really bad condition when we purchased it so we set about stripping it back completely to the shell. It took us about a year but we completely re-built it to create a clean and minimal space with lots of lights but a few traditional elements as well.
What fire have you had installed?
We had the Gazco eReflex 105R Inset electric fire installed.
Where did you get the fire installed in your home, and why that location?
We had it installed in the lounge and had it built in to a custom-made wall that also houses the TV and display niches.
What drew you to a Stovax & Gazco product?
We saw them online and also in a local retailer and loved how realistic they look and also how clean and easy they are to use. With one touch of the remote you can create the most amazing immediate ambience, and they also give off heat as well. It really is the most amazing feature!!
Why did you choose that specific fire?
It fit perfectly with the design and also works perfectly when integrating into a wall. We love clean and minimal design so couldn’t ask for anything better.
What have you found to be the most useful feature of the fire?
I honestly think how you can turn the eReflex electric fire on instantly with the remote and how easy it is to use. We actually have it on all day which I don’t think we would ever do with a regular fire.
What was the greatest challenge when undergoing this build?
The pandemic made it very difficult and definitely slowed things down. There were major shortages of really necessary materials such as plaster.
Why is it important to you to have a fireplace?
It’s the feel and ambience that it creates. It gives a room soul and warmth, and the light it gives off has the most amazing vibe. It’s one of those things that even when you aren’t looking directly at it, it is creating a beautiful subconscious feeling of warmth.
Any tips for other people renovating?
Try and fix as many costs as possible, try and create as much space as possible and equally do whatever you can to let more light into the property. Use any little niches and awkward spaces to create storage (can never have enough storage) and where possible try and add some ‘wow’ factor features such as a fire.
