The Ecodesign Ready scheme is a government backed initiative that sets stringent emissions limits for solid fuel stoves and fires here in the UK. The goal of this scheme is to improve air quality and efficiency through increased fuel standards and sustainability.
We offer the UK’s largest range of Ecodesign stoves and fires. These products provide rolling flames and comforting warmth, whilst lowering emissions to an absolute minimum. These appliances burn much cleaner than old stoves, using 20% less logs than a standard stove to heat your home, and a whopping 70% less than an open fire. If you live in a smoke control area, it means you can only burn authorised fuels unless your stove or fire is exempt. There are certain rules and criteria that these stoves or fires must meet in order to be deemed as exempt by DEFRA. Generally, these appliances burn more efficiently as they use less fuel, as well as reduce harmful emissions, so they play a key role in the UK Governments Clean Air Strategy.
