If you’re having difficulty deciding between an eStudio and an eReflex electric fire, we’re here to help! Read on to discover the differences between these ranges.
If you’ve landed on this blog post because you can’t decide between a Gazco eReflex electric fire and an eStudio electric fire, we don’t blame you. Both of these stunning electric fires offer up to 2kW of programmable heating, are available with Programmable Thermostatic Eco Remote Control, and are capable of delivering bucketloads of ambience at the press of a button. But there are a few key differences in the details which this blog post aims to cover.
Table of Contents:
First off, all models in the eStudio and eReflex electric fire ranges feature stunning flame visuals that are powered by Gazco’s state-of-the-art Chromalight LED technology. This unique technology allows for multiple flame settings to choose from as well as bathes the realistic fuel effect from below. While the eReflex electric fires offers a choice of Amber, Blue, and Amber with Blue Accent flame settings, electric fires in the eStudio range offer Amber and Yellow, Amber with Yellow accent, or Yellow with Amber accent.
What’s more, both models in both ranges offer a choice of fuel effects. While the eReflex is available with a choice of Oak Log-effect, and Crystal Ice-effect, eStudio electric fires are available with their own unique logs as standard, designed to fit the eStudio’s slimmer depth. The option of Silver Birch log-effect is also available for the eStudio. Whichever you choose, both eStudio log-effect options have been designed with sections that glow just like real burning logs.
All models in both ranges come with Gazco’s Programmable Thermostatic Eco Remote Control as standard, which provide a host of settings right at your fingertips including your desired room temperature as well as fuel bed colour and flame display options.
The eReflex range goes one step further, offering the ability to control the fire with an innovative app, available for compatible iOS and Android mobile devices. Once paired with the fire you’ll be able to take full control over your fire’s array of features from your smartphone or tablet.
For added ambience, both eReflex and eStudio fires offer the option to upgrade the installation with an optional LED Mood Lighting System – a bonus for when you want to elevate the look of a media wall or feature wall install. This easy-to-install kit consists of a three-metre strip which connects via a cable to the fire during installation. Popular installation scenarios include backlighting behind a TV for added definition, as well as downlighting on shelves to cast a cool hue over ornaments.
The eReflex Inset electric fires are perfect for feature walls and media walls, as too are the eStudio electric fires. The latter even has a slightly narrower depth which allows for even greater installation possibilities. The reduced depth required is great for media walls, as it means the studwork frame to house the fires profile doesn’t need to be built so far out into the room.
If space-saving is less of an issue and you’re looking for something a little different, eReflex electric fires like the 150RW can also be installed multi-sided for a more panoramic experience. The supplied side blanking plates can be used to block off one or both of the side windows, ideal for inset or corner installations. Furthermore, where the installation necessities the fire to be wall mounted, eReflex fires come with an included mounting bracket for this purpose.
The eReflex makes for a fantastic designer centrepiece with stunning flame views, whether opting for an inset, 2-sided or 3-sided configuration.
If you’re looking for a complete flat-wall-fix with minimal building work, the eStudio range has you covered with the eStudio Arosa 140 and Cerreto 140 wall mounted electric fire suites. These all-in-one suite models offers a super convenient wall hung installation that’s designed to deliver a pleasing floating shelf aesthetic. These trendy self-contained fires are perfect for when a little added ambience is needed without requirement for a studwork frame or hearth.

If you want to buy an extra set of faux logs , how much and where to go ?
Hello Norna, thanks for your comment. You can order additional fuel effect sets for most models either via our online spares website, or alternatively these can also be purchased through your retailer. Hope this helps.
Best wishes, Chris
Hi there …can you control the speed of the flame on both models ?
Hi James, thanks for your comment. Flame speed control isn’t offered by Gazco on the eStudio or eReflex, only Avanti models by our premium brand Onyx offer this. You can find out more about the Onyx Avanti electric fire range on the Onyx website here.
Thanks, Chris
Do you have fitters that take out existing fire places with gas fire , cap off and replace with one of you gazco electric fires
Hi Chris, thanks for your message. We don’t work with fitters directly being a manufacturer, but our retailers often work with installers to offer this level of service. You can find your nearest Gazco retailer here.
Best wishes, Chris
Hi Chris
Do any of your media wall fires eStudio, eReflex and Onyx have the ability to adjust the flame height?
Based on price would they be in the same order as above eStudio being the cheapest?
Is there a video showing all 3 fires and what you can do with the remote?
Are there any video/plans for building a media wall?
Hi Mart, thanks for your comment. Unfortunately none of our electric fires offer flame height adjustment currently, however the Onyx Avanti does offer the ability to adjust the flame speed which the others do not. You’re correct, the eStudio is the cheapest of the three, and the Onyx Avanti is the premium range.
There isn’t a video but the remote is the same for all three and they all allow you to set timers and schedules for heating, adjust flame and built in lighting effects as well as any additional mood lighting kits connected. I’d always recommend going to visit a showroom to see them all in person before making a decision as you can play around with them all to get a feel for which you prefer the look of.
Best wishes, Chris
