A twist on the French 75, this cocktail marries Copper Frog Gin, Champagne, lemon juice, and sugar, for a luxurious yet light tipple. The perfect alternative to a festive mimosa, the 75 cocktail dates to World War I, with an early form created in at the New York Bar in Paris by Harry MacElhone in 1915.
Those on the continent call it a Soixante Quinze, but we’re donning this recipe a Copper 75.
Ingredients:
Preparation
Combine gin, syrup, and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into an iced flute glass. Top up with Champagne. Stir gently, and serve straight up, chilled, without ice!
Swap the Champagne in favour for cider for a fruity and wintery depth.
