As Pantone announced its 2020 colour of the year is Classic Blue, we’ve put together some interiors to give you some inspiration for bringing blue into your home.
Pantone describe Classic Blue as bringing ‘a sense of peace and tranquility to the human spirit’.
Blue can be a very calming colour, adding tones of luxury to a living space. Here are some ways to incorporate blue in your interior.
One way to make blue work in your living space is to focus on any alcoves, or create blue accents. A rich blue in an alcove can create a warm and cosy nook, especially when this zone of your room is used for items such as a desk, or a reading space. Paired with a gas log burner such as the Gazco Loft (right), the atmosphere in your interior becomes instantly inviting and homely.
Alternatively, keep a room bright and airy, and pick out accents or accessories to bring blue into your home. It’s no secret that a feature wall provides a great opportunity for us to experiment with colours and textures. Choosing a bold colour on a feature wall can be all you need to inject an upgrade into your home. In this interior, we’ve chosen to make the chimney breast our feature wall. Not only does this define a focal point, it also draws attention to the heart of the home – the fireplace.
