On 4th July, the Stovax Heating Group celebrated their Grand Opening Event, showcasing their brand-new manufacturing facility at Skypark, alongside a belated celebration of their 40th anniversary.
Stovax & Gazco are thrilled to announce that their new state-of-the-art facility at Exeter Skypark is now open. At the Grand Opening Event on 4th July, members of the NIBE Stoves Board, local dignitaries, members of press, top figures in the self-build, homes and interiors sector, and some key people and suppliers who have contributed to this fantastic achievement were present to celebrate.
Stovax & Gazco were honoured to have Kunle Barker, Property and Construction Expert, Writer and Broadcaster, attending and speaking at the event and cutting the ribbon at the opening ceremony for their new site. Kunle remarked “My first editorial piece about Stovax & Gazco’s fireplaces was actually my first real paid journalist job; I was working for Grand Designs at that time. I am delighted to be able to continue to talk to the company about their onward trajectory.”
During the event, attendees had the exclusive opportunity to embark on a behind-the-scenes tour of the new state-of-the-art facility. This included visiting the ground-breaking Research and Development laboratories, meeting with the industry-leading team, gaining insights into the cutting-edge technology and processes behind over 40 years of innovation and heritage, as well as a sneak preview of new product reveals.
Laurie Bayliss, Production & Warehouse Director at Stovax & Gazco, gives a tour of the factory and warehouse at the new Skypark facility.
Boasting an impressive 205,000 sq ft structure, the facility marks a new chapter in Stovax Heating Group’s manufacturing capabilities, and their future for sustainable heating solutions. It allows them to continue to develop their diverse and leading range of award-winning high-quality wood burning, multi-fuel, gas, and electric stoves and fires – all in the heart of the South West, with export to over 25 countries internationally.
The new Skypark facility has been designed to be environmentally sustainable and meets the BREEAM ‘Excellent’ standard, putting it in the top 10% of UK non-domestic buildings in terms of sustainability performance. BREEAM-rated developments are more sustainable environments that enhance the wellbeing of the people who work in them, allowing the company to retain their knowledgeable and valued local employee base whilst helping to protect natural resources. Environmental considerations have been central to the Group’s core business values for over 40 years.
Commenting on the momentous close to this long-awaited project, Gerteric Lindquist, CEO of NIBE Industrier said: “Seeing this building has cemented the knowledge that we are well positioned for our future. The new facility is a direct reflection of how the Stovax Heating Group embody all the values that NIBE seeks to represent – we are delighted with the result, and look forward to continuing the story ahead.”
The company are proud to have a positive impact on the local community by providing stable jobs and contributing to the local economy through their focus on south-west manufacturing and innovation.
