Tell us a bit more about your home project.
We have always wanted a home with a big central fireplace, so before we even moved in we had lots of Pinterest ideas saved of how we wanted it to look. We did lots of research on inset electric fires and came across Gazco who had great recommendations and lots of stunning fires to choose from! We wanted to make our living room more homely and have something to grab the attention as you walk in the room, so pairing the sparkle white split face tiles with the realistic log burning, colour changing Gazco fire and the downlights either side, we feel we have done exactly that, and are really happy with our end result!
What fire have you had installed?
Gazco eReflex 105R (formerly Skope)
Who was your retailer?
West Country Fires, in Southampton
Where did you get the fire installed in your home, and why that location?
We installed our fire in our living room as we wanted something to break up our long wall and create an attention grabbing feature. Having the fire on with just the different colour visual effects makes the room feel so cosy and really creates the feeling of warmth!
What drew you to a Gazco product?
We had had a few recommendations from others and when speaking with a few suppliers, they too also recommended Gazco for their easy installation and stunning visual effects. There are lots of different fires for all price ranges and we fell in love with the realistic log effect of the Gazco eReflex! We have had so many compliments and we absolutely love how it completes our living room!
What was the greatest challenge when undergoing this renovation?
The construction of the stud work would be the greatest challenge we came across as there was little support to fix our frame to. This meant we had to spend more time planning the build to make sure it would be structurally sound and support the fire, mirror and tiles.
Why is it important to you to have a fireplace?
Few features in the home offer an instant dreamy escape, like a fireplace. It instantly adds warmth to a room, and is perfect for those cosy nights in. It gives instant character, and grabs your attention straight away when walking into the room, whilst also acting as a division to help break down long rooms. To us, it completes a living space.
Do you have any tips for other people renovating?
Building the studwork for an electric fireplace can be tricky in some cases. Whether it’s down to not having the tools, or having the confidence to undertake any form of construction. We’d highly recommend having a professional undertake the work, in these situations.
