Emma & Matt, Riva Vision Midi, 1930 Semi-Detached House
Emma and Matt have also wanted to buy a woodburner 6 years ago when they first purchased their house. They loved spending time in front of their fire after a long cold, day at the beach.

Emma & Matt bought their 1930’s semi-detached house 6 years ago and they added a woodburner to add value to their house. Find out more about Emma & Matt’s testimonial.
Q. Please briefly describe your renovation project including the style and age of your property.
A. We own a 1930’s semi-detached house which has an open plan lounge diner. Before we renovated the property, the fireplace use to have an old brass gas convector fire.
Q. How long did the project take?
A. The project took 3 months. We redecorated the whole room and added a new sofa and a reclaimed coffee table. Of course, the woodburner!
Q. Please give the make, model and size of your fire or stove – also is it woodburning only or multi-fuel?
A. Riva Vision Midi Woodburner.
Q. How long have you wanted a fire/stove?
A. Since buying the house 6 years ago.
Q. What were the key reasons for installing a fire/stove? For example were you motivated by ambience, environmental, cost, style and/or warmth?
A. One of the main reasons for installing our woodburner was that we wanted it to fit the style and age of the property. Another reason is to add value to the house. We also wanted to use a sustainable fuel source.
Q. What drew you to your particular model?
A. We liked the contemporary and non-fussy style of the stove.
Q. What type of installation do you have (including the flue)?
A. We had a standard chimney flue.
Q. Describe the journey to owning your own stove. Was it enjoyable, straight forward, more reasonable/expensive than you thought, did you find a retailer and an installer easily and locally? Did you have to wait long for the fire/stove and the installation?
A. The fitting was really quick (less than a day). We did the preparation work ourselves, knocking out the opening and boarding the hole. There was no scaffolding needed to fit the liner.
Q. Why did you install it into your living room?
A. We wanted a real fire as it gives a homely smell. It is especially great after a long, cold day at the beach.
Q. Has the fire/stove changed your lifestyle in any way?
A. Yes it as changed our lifestyle. We spend more time in the room in the winter with friends after dinner.
We’re hoping for a cold winter to enjoy using the woodburner!
Q. Other comments that you would like to add:
A. Our neighbours now want to buy Stovax stoves as they are jealous!!!
