Chris, Vogue Gas, Belfast
We came across this striking installation on Belfast Fire Studio’s Instagram feed, and wanted to hear more about it. Here, homeowner Chris talks us through why he chose a Vogue Gas from Gazco, and how Belfast Fire Studio helped him to realise his dream.

Tell us about your installation.
Working with the expert assistance of Belfast Fire Studio, we decided upon a gas stove for our study – mainly for the convenience and the speed of heat generation when starting from cold. The room already had underfloor heating so the Gazco Vogue midi was able to supplement that on cold winter nights and chilly days when working from home. Aesthetically, the stove had to fit with the traditional study theme of the room and it achieved that wonderfully while still maintaining a contemporary look. I had been concerned with the authenticity of the fire but need not have been as the sight, sound and warmth of the stove have been a delight.
Tell us a bit more about your interior style.
It is an old house dating from 1890, which was gutted and restored 5 years ago. We have been trying to keep the rooms toward the front of the house in keeping with the late Victorian style. Toward the back of the house there is a new contemporary extension which contains the kitchen.

Any advice for homeowners looking for a new stove?
We already had a real fire, which we love, but are equally delighted with our new Vogue gas stove. Having the choice between solid fuel and gas adds variety – though at the moment we’re tending to use the gas stove much more. Even though they have similar warming and aesthetic effects, the gas stove is much more convenient and economic to run. Whether this is just the novelty factor of the gas stove remains to be seen!
What made you choose Gazco?
The quality build of the stove and the realistic fire effect (warmth, visuals and sound).
