Gazco takes the safety of all of its products very seriously. As part of our commitment to continuous product assessment, Gazco impose a very strict monitoring regime on all their product lines.
As a result of these monitoring systems, Gazco has identified a potential safety risk in some of their conventional flue Logic HE, E-Box and E-Studio fires made between February 2013 and October 2015. Their ongoing checking has identified that after extensive use, and in certain specific circumstances, it is possible that the draught diverter plate may be able to move out of position and the appliance could cause carbon monoxide to be produced with a risk of causing poisoning to people in the room. This was caused by the failure of a parts supplier using aluminium rivets instead of the steel rivets we specify.
Which fires are potentially affected?
This issue only affects conventionally flued Logic HE, E-Box and E-Studio fires made between February 2013 and October 2015.

How do I find the serial number and model number of my fire?
The model number and serial number are found on the commissioning page, page 3, of your installation and servicing manual that was supplied with your fire.
Alternatively, these numbers are also found on your fires databadge the images below will help guide you to the databadge. Please note it is different for slide control versions to all other control types:
What is being done to solve this problem?
Gazco have identified all the appliances that could be affected by this issue and have contacted all of the retailers that sold these fires. The retailers will pass the contact details of all the owners of these fires to Gazco who will be providing a free of charge product safety enhancement to be fitted to all affected fires that will permanently rectify the potential issue once it is correctly installed.
If you have one of these fires installed in your home, you are requested not to use your fire until the product safety enhancement kit that will be provided has been fitted. You will be contacted to discuss the fitting of the kit as soon as possible.

SAFETY ENHANCEMENT KIT FITTING
We would like to apologise again for any inconvenience that having your fire turned off has caused. We appreciate that this could not have been at a worse time of year. Extensive testing has been carried out on the safety enhancement kit to ensure that it passes all safety requirements before it is made available for fitting. These tests have all been successfully completed and the safety enhancement kit is now in production and will be available very soon.
Now that these kits are approved for installation we want to ensure that they can be fitted as quickly as possible and with the minimum of further disruption to you, enabling you to get your product back into full use and safe in the knowledge that the identified potential issue is rectified permanently.
The kit has been designed for simple home installation in just a few minutes by a suitably qualified person. Accordingly, we are now making arrangements to get all the kits fitted efficiently and without delay by using a third party company. We apologise that we cannot offer a date for resolution at this point, but please be assured that you will be contacted as soon as possible to arrange for someone to come and fit the kit to your fire. There will of course be no charge for either the kit or the fitting.
