Why We Love Classic Fireplaces (and you should, too)

A wood burning stove can give a warm heart to your home, but sometimes, a property's hidden depths need to be uncovered. And what better way to breathe new life into a room than by reclaiming that chimney breast and installing an authentic classic fireplace.

At some point during any home renovation project, the question of what to do with the fireplace will more than likely get raised. And a state-of-the-art wood burning or multi-fuel stove is usually the answer.

Thanks to their wide range of sizes and styles, there are models to cater for every taste, decor and room size. Even boiler stoves that can provide hot water for those that want to go all in.

But sometimes, a property just calls for some TLC to uncover its hidden depths. And what better way to breathe new life into a room? Uncovering that chimney breast and installing a classic fireplace is the first step.

The Stovax range of 19th Century inspired classic fireplaces are a perfect choice. Adding a touch of authenticity to a modern home or restoring a period property to its former glory.

Each fireplace is authentically hand-cast in cast iron to the same specification as the Georgian and Victorian originals. Each displaying the level of detail that befits such a focal point.

An Insert fireplace is an easy option for a chimney opening that measures approximately 36” x 36” (915 x 915mm). This will be able to slot straight in and has an option of being a full cast or cast with slots for decorative tiles.

Even if your home has a modern 22” x 16” (560 x 405mm) chimney opening with a Milner tapered firebrick, you can install a Stovax Tiled front.

Almost impossible to tell apart from a full insert, a tiled front is available with an array of finishes. Different hood and tile choices (that are also available for the Insert Fireplaces) can create an individual look suited to you.

So, a choice of either an Insert or Tiled Front is the first step to having that period feature in your home. But, even more options are available to you, creating a unique period finish.

All Stovax Tiled Classic Fireplaces have a choice of 10 (5 per side) fireplace tiles. From a range of faithfully reproduced Victorian tiles with designs popular to the era, to sets of decorative tube-lined tiles.

Tube-Lined tiles were used extensively during the Arts & Crafts and Art Nouveau periods. Created by piping the outline directly onto the tile, translucent glazes are then applied, making each tile unique.

Stovax also offer a range of handsome wood and stone mantels. With designs that will more than complement these classic fireplaces, a mantel will give you real authenticity. Not to mention a finishing touch to reach the height of Victorian respectability.

So, to create a truly traditional feature, look no further than these classic fireplaces. Adding warmth and elegance to any room or living space, let the Stovax range inspire you.
