With clear blue skies and temperatures having reached 30ºC last weekend, why would you want to think about buying a wood burning or multi-fuel stove now?
In fact, there are several good reasons:
- Most people tend to buy a new wood burning or multi-fuel stove in the autumn, between September and December. Sales of wood burning stoves have soared over the past few years and this means that retailers can become very busy during these months. Appointments for site visits quickly build up and stocks of some popular stoves can even sometimes run out. Order before September and you will easily be able to get a site visit and the stove you want.
- It is imperative that your new stove is correctly and safely installed. In the autumn, HETAS-registered fitters (qualified specialists in solid fuel heating) can get booked up many weeks ahead so you may not be able to have your stove installed prior to Christmas. Order before September and you should easily be able to get a fitter when you wish.
- If you have an existing chimney, it will need to be swept. Again, it is much easier to arrange for chimney sweeping in the summer.
- Last, but certainly not least, some retailers have summer sales or promotions so you may well be able to get an even better deal on your new wood burning or multi-fuel stove. Act before 22nd June and you many save even more if VAT increases in the new Government’s Budget!
