With the heating season now over, it is time to remind owners of boiler stoves that if your stove is unused for a period of time, it should be checked occasionally to ensure that condensate is not building up inside the ashpan or base of the stove.
This condensation can be caused by the relatively cold temperature of the water jacket in the stove combined with high humidity in the room. Please note that condensation is normal and does not indicate a faulty or leaking stove. If you do find condensate in the base of the stove then remove it with kitchen towels or old cloths.
Further, if your stove is going to be unused for very long periods then Stovax recommended that the water is drained from the heating system. For details of how to drain your system, please contact your local Stovax retailer or a qualified plumber/heating engineer.
