Our range of advanced, high efficiency wood burning and multi-fuel stoves featuring Cleanburn technology let you do just that, introducing air to key areas of the appliance’s firebox through multiple air inlets. Not only does this increase heat output and reduce the amount of times you need to refuel; it ensures cleaner, more efficient burning.

View 8 wood burning and multi-fuel stove

View 8 wood burning and multi-fuel stove

Our Cleanburn technology uses a secondary air supply which introduces combustion air into the upper area of the stove, increasing wood burning efficiency and creating a larger, brighter flame that fills the stove’s window.

Most of the heat-output from wood fuel actually comes from igniting the gases produced by the burning wood. By supplying air above the wood fire, gases are burnt off to produce more heat output with less smoke particles going up the chimney. This allows complete combustion of the fuel, benefitting the environment through cleaner burning.

Complete combustion of wood ensures approximately the same amount of carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere as that absorbed by the tree during growth – making wood burning a carbon neutral energy. With lower smoke emissions, these cleaner burning, high efficiency stoves are not only a greener option, they may also be approved for use in urban Smoke Control Areas.

Offered in both traditional and contemporary designs, our range of wood burning and multi-fuel stoves with Cleanburn technology are available in a variety of sizes and heat outputs to suit almost any home.

Stockton 3 burning wood

Stockton 3 burning wood

For those of you who desire a cast iron stove that has traditional appeal, the Huntingdon 25 could be the ideal option. With a heat output of 5kW this stove is certainly powerful for its size, and whether you opt for the clear glass version or the tracery door with Gothic styling, Airwash technology ensures a wonderful view of the beautiful flames.

The Stockton 3 and View 3 share the same 3.75 kW heat output, as well as the ability to fit neatly into a standard 22” high British fireplace opening, yet they offer two very different looks. The Stockton’s styling is more traditional, whereas the View provides a more contemporary slant with its geometric lines. Although both stoves are multi-fuel, they are also capable of burning wood with an impressive efficiency of up to 86%.

Sleek and contemporary with its black glass finish, the Riva Vision Small offers a generous heat output of 5kW. This stove comes in a dedicated wood burning version, designed specifically to burn wood with maximum efficiency and, like the Stockton 3 and View 3, the Riva Vision Small benefits from cutting-edge Cleanburn and Airwash technology, keeping the window clear and resulting in efficiencies of up to 76%.

Smaller wood burning stoves with a contemporary style look incredibly appealing when mounted on an optional stove bench, adding a new dimension to your appliance. Choose from a bench designed specifically for smaller stoves, or opt for a larger bench and gain the extra convenience of a storage space for your logs.

Smaller stoves are wonderful for more modest spaces, and your Stovax retailer can help you find your perfect model. For further information about our range of convenient, small wood burning stoves, visit your local showroom today.

Enjoying the benefits of a log burner

A couple enjoying the benefits of a log burner

If you’re a first time stove buyer, our comprehensive website provides you with all the important information on fuel types, installations, style choices and your closest retailer where you can purchase your log burning product. With wood becoming the most popular choice for fuel because of its carbon neutral benefits, many homes are now looking to add a log burner to their home. Before purchasing your log burner, there are main points to consider listed below:

Book a site survey

Prior to any heating installation, we highly recommend that you complete a site survey which will identify the requirements for the hearth, flue system, ventilation and clearances to any combustible material to maintain safe use. It will also identify the most suitable appliance for the location of your home. This must be done by a suitably qualified registered installer. Most urban and city homes are located in a Smoke Control Area, which means that you are only permitted to use exempt appliances if you live in this area. If you currently have a non-exempt appliance, you are only permitted to burn authorised fuels. Our website has a dedicated web page that list all Stovax stoves, fires and fireplaces that are suitable for use in these Smoke Control Areas.

Understanding the role of your stove

A log burning stove can have numerous roles for your home and homeowners can either have the option to heat a certain room or an entire house – even homes without a chimney can install a wood burner. First and foremost, you will need to measure the size of your room to help find out the appropriate stove size needed. Visit our FAQ section to help you calculate the size of stove required for a particular room that you wish to install a log burner into. Your local retailer will be able to guide you with this. If you are looking to reduce your overall heating fuel costs, boiler stoves can be used to supply your domestic hot water and central heating requirements or augment your existing heating system via “link up” technology. The Stockton 14HB boiler stove has the ability to heat up to 19 radiators – perfect for larger properties! Alternatively, there are other models such as the Stockton 8HB and the View 7HBi which can heat up to 9 radiators and more appropriate for smaller homes.

If you are looking to install a log burner but don’t have an existing chimney, the highly versatile Stovax Professional XQ™ twin wall system can be configured for either internal or external installation to suit virtually any requirement. It can also open up new possibilities for rooms such as conservatories or other unconventional spaces to allow many more homes to enjoy the benefits of a log burning stove.

The style of stove

Stockton 5 log burning stove

Stockton 5 log burning stove

Today, there is a wide range of log burning stoves to choose from whatever the style of your home. Our traditional stoves are made from the finest cast iron or steel and are available in a selection of beautiful colour finishes to complement your home’s period look. Both the Riva Vision and the Riva Studio Ranges have a more contemporary finish and also have the flexibility of plinth and bench options to further enhance your styling possibilities.

For those wanting to create a “double” focal feature with the bonus of heating two rooms at once, the Stockton double sided log burning stove can be enjoyed in two separate rooms at the same time!

Add value to your property

A recent article from the Daily Mail suggests that buying a log burning stove will add 5% percent value to your property. With open fire efficiencies being significantly lower than log burning stoves, a considerable amount of homeowners are now adding a log burner to their homes to increase their property’s value.

Buying from an expert

Our log burning stoves are only available from our extensive network of Stovax expert retailers. Purchasing your stove from these retailers means you will be provided with a Five Year Extended warranty for your log burner. For full warranty terms and conditions, please visit our warranty information page.

A Stovax retailer will be able to arrange a site survey for you, advise on the size of log burner and help you choose the perfect style of fire for your home.

Victorian Fireplace Insert, shown with Peony tiles and Victorian Wood Mantel

During the Georgian and Victorian eras, the fireplace took became an increasingly important part of the home. No longer just for heating and cooking, the fireplace became a decorative statement of wealth and taste. Stovax and Gazco’s fireplace insert designs recapture the aesthetic appeal of period pieces and combine this with 21st century technology. Whether you have a period property, or you wish to bring a piece of the past to a new home, you can find an authentic fireplace insert to add grandeur to your living space.

Fireplace inserts have in-built firebacks and can be placed into chimney openings measuring approximately 36” x 36” or larger. A Stovax fireplace insert can be made entirely from cast iron or incorporate decorative tiles. For increased convenience, the fireplace inserts are also available as realistic coal-effect gas fires, bringing all the look of a traditional fireplace insert along with the ease of gas.

The earliest influences on Stovax’s fireplace insert designs can be found in the early 19th century, with the Kensington & Knightsbridge fireplace inserts exhibiting the beautiful symmetry of neo-classical designs, making them ideal for a Georgian drawing room or modern home alike.

The Victorian Tiled fireplace insert is based on designs from the late 19th Century and offer a wide range of tile and hood options that can be paired with Stovax’s Victorian tile range. Our tiles are faithfully reproduced from Victorian originals, in a range of designs that display the interest in nature and love of symmetry found during this period.

Our Art Nouveau tiled fireplace inserts capture the flowing design motifs popular at this time, and the optional brass hood can add real panache. For the tile sets, choose from recreations of renowned Art Nouveau artist Alphonse Mucha’s work, or tube-lined tiles, produced using traditional hand-crafted methods.

Following the cluttered interiors of the Victorian era, Edwardians favoured understated elegance, a preference that is continued with the Alexandra fireplace inserts. Whether you select Matt Black, Highlight Polished or Fully Polished cast iron as your finish, the Alexandra will bring sophistication to your living space with its authentic hand-cast detailing and graceful curving arch.

Stovax offers a wide range of fire surrounds, which are crafted from traditional materials such as wood, stone and cast iron. A fire surround could be the perfect finishing flourish for your solid fuel, gas or electric appliances, and whether you wish to recreate a period look or complement your contemporary tastes with clean, bold lines, there is a fire surround to suit you.

When it comes to wooden fire surrounds, there is a wide variety of period and contemporary styles available. From the grand dimensions of the Chatsworth to the clean lines of the Helsinki, each wooden fire surround is hand-crafted and, in the case of timber frames, the wood is carefully selected from renewable plantations for its close, even grain and freedom from blemishes.

Excitingly, the Stovax range of fire surrounds has been increased to offer further styling options. From this autumn, the Brompton and Pembroke wood fire surrounds can now benefit from a new, elegant Grey finish that reflects the very latest trends in design. To achieve this thoroughly on-trend option, the hand-crafted fire surrounds are finished in a beautiful satin Grey Lacquer to create a surface that is not only lustrous, but also durable.
For a look that strikes the balance between classic and contemporary, opting for a stone fire surround could provide the solution. Available in limestone or antique white marble, each surround is truly unique due to naturally occurring veining, subtle tonal differences or even the presence of small fossils in the case of the limestone. These stone fire surrounds are both elegant and robust and benefit from hand-finished craftsmanship.

During the 19th century, cast iron was a popular material for fire surrounds and Stovax offers three cast iron fire surrounds that take their inspiration from 19th century design. These cast iron designs are perfect for restoring a Victorian property or adding a sense of grandeur to any room, whether you choose traditional matt black or gleaming “fully polished”.

To find out more about Stovax’s outstanding range of wood, stone and cast iron fire surrounds, contact your local Stovax retailer.
